Filters Overview
|
In this section of the reporting demonstration we will go over the filtering options for your survey results. Filtering is the ability to refine the results shown for your survey in order to develop a better understanding of what the data means, to focus on trends in your results, and to view certain subsets of your data. Below you can find out more about our Date filter, Respondent filter, Question filter, and Question Answer filter. Shown here is the Filtering page.

Date Filter
The date
filter allows you to limit the
results displayed to only those answers received within a certain time frame. Leaving the left box blank will include all responses since the beginning of the survey, and leaving the right box blank will include all the responses up until the current day.
Benefits: This filter is great when you want
to break your survey results down by day, week, or month.

Respondent Filter
The respondent filter allows you to exclude responses from one or more respondents. If you choose to have your survey be anonymous, there will be a minimum number of respondents whose answers must be shown at all times.
Benefits: This filter can allow you to take extreme responses out of your results.
For instance, if an unauthorized respondent took your survey and skewed the results negatively, you could remove their responses from the displayed output.

Question Filter
The question filter displays each question in your survey by section. Checking the box next to any question will hide it from being shown on the results page.
Benefits: This filter allows you to show only the data you want to be shown when displaying your results to others, exporting your data, or
printing a report of your results.

Question Answer Filter
The question answer filter allows you to check off an individual answer to a question. This filters your results such that the only respondents who will be included in your results are those who also chose the answer you checked off for that question.
Benefits: This is a convenient way to see
certain subset of your respondents. For instance if you want
to see the results of certain demographic segments, for example the respondent's age in your survey, you can check off an age range an the only results that will show up now are those of respondents in that age range.

Question Answer Filter Example
Shown to the right are a before and after snapshot of what using the Question Answer filter can do for your results. In this example the manager of a group of employees has given them a survey to take. The first question in the survey asks the employees' age and the second question about whether they made their monthly quota. After looking at the results, the manager decides to use the question answer filter to see how the 30-39 year old employees are doing with their quota. By checking off the 30-39 answer for the first question in his survey in the Question Answer filter, the manager will be able to view only the results of those who chose 30-39 in their survey. In the second snapshot below, you can see that these employees reported being off their quota the most. |
